The first three Sundays of each month see traditional train rides from Moorooduc to Mornington. Relax, enjoy the scenery, and be transported back in time on the heritage railway. Seawinds- Arthurs Seat State Park
The autumn colours of the deciduous trees are spectacular. Later in the season, unleash your inner child and play in the autumn leaves. The bay views from Seawinds are breathtaking. You can make a day of it, as there are several picnic areas as well as electric barbeques. While you are there, the William Ricketts Sculpture Garden. Always a great free Autumn day out.
Mornington Peninsula Winery Walk
On the 6th May 2017, this walk took participants from Red Hill to Merricks alongside local vignerons. It is a celebration of the end of harvest and an opportunity to experience the current vintage. Wear a beret and pretend you are in Burgundy. Even if you aren’t staying at a Peninsula Group Stays property that weekend, Autumn is a terrific time to visit the local wineries as the pressures of harvest have past, new vintages as bottled, and the vignerons have more time to share their wares and experience with cellar door visitors.
This Mornington Peninsula institution will be in its 89th year in 2017. Labour Day Saturday 11th March 2017 at the Red Hill Showgrounds. Agricultural Shows remain a popular day for the family even today, and this one is one of the very best. Expect entertainment, exhibitions, demonstrations, animals as well as baking, arts and crafts. The family ticket (2 adults, 3 children aged 6-17) remains $50.
