There are many ways that your large group can explore the Mornington Peninsula, however one of the most unique ways to experience the sweeping hills, farms, bushland and wineries, is on horseback.

There are a number of horseback tours operating on the Mornington Peninsula within easy reach of a number of our properties. The tours available range from leisurely rides through farmland and trails, beach rides, to more strenuous bush rides for the more experienced equestrian. No matter your ability you should be able to find a suitable ride from amongst the following, just don’t forget to book ahead of time.

Horseback Mornington Peninsula

Located in Shands Rd., Main Ridge, Horseback is able to cater for groups of 10 or more. Even better, it is located near Collins Street House, Red Hill and Take Two on Collins. This particular group has created a 3 hour ride through the spectacular wine region of Red Hill and Main Ridge. The ride is suitable for novices as well as for more experienced riders. The tour stops to sample the produce at two of the local wineries, choosing from T’Gallant, Green Olive at Red Hill, Mantons Creek,  Mock Orchard, and Frog Hollow Estate.

Gunnamatta Trail Rides

Close to Private Coastal Luxury, a wonderful secluded property in Fingal, Gunnamatta Trail Rides offers a number of different riding experiences. For youngsters and beginners, there is a 1 hour ride along Truemans bushland. Their signature ride however is a 2 hour ride which includes time spent riding through the waves at St Andrews beach. If that doesn’t sound romantic or special enough, Gunnamatta Trail Rides also do early morning and twilight beach rides.

If you are a hard-core horse rider, there are rides suitable for you too. These include a Limestone bush ride and a 5 hour “All day” ride for the most experienced.

Gunnamatta also do destination rides. For example, you can arrange to ride your horse down to the ocean beach, and then inland ending up at the Peninsula Hot Springs, ready to soak your hopefully not too saddle-sore body. Alternatively your beach ride can be followed by tapas lunch at The Cups Estate in Fingal.

Ace-Hi

Ace-Hi Ranch in Cape Schanck is more about the full horse-riding experience. In keeping with the “Ranch” theme, ticketing occurs at the Chapel followed by ride departure from the Sheriff’s Office. There are a number of different rides available catering for varying abilities including a Bush and Beach ride which enters Mornington Peninsula National Park before arriving at the beach.
